Springfield's Favorite Family Arrives in Rocket League: Unfortunately Not the Vehicle You're Hoping For
It was previously announced that The Simpsons was teaming up with Fortnite, but that's not the only destination where enthusiasts can immerse themselves in the world of Springfield. The beloved show is also making its way to Rocket League, bringing along an in-game car skin that will also be compatible in Fortnite. However, whether players will actually want to equip it is another question, as there's only one Simpsons car the community is eager to drive, and this isn't it.
What Fans Really Want
While many gamers would absolutely enjoy to face off behind the wheel of Homer's custom creation—the famously flawed car Homer designed himself in the 1991 installment "the one where he meets Herb"—regrettably, that isn't what players are receiving. Not even getting the massive SUV, the enormous truck showcased in the tenth season. Rather, players will obtain the family's standard beat-up sedan, which they've been driving since the show's early days. Even though this particular car has accumulated plenty of miles, it stands as an recognizable symbol of the show. And for players who pay attention to the game's vehicle dimensions, the Simpson family car shares the same hitbox as the Dominus.

Additional Themed Cosmetics
And it's not the sole cosmetic from the show arriving in Rocket League. This limited-time event will also include a series of objectives to earn more goodies, all of which are inspired by the show. According to a official announcement, the missions will require players to "get as many centers and clears as there are the show's seasons, collect boost pickups as if your navigation is set to The Simpsons’ residence, and travel a specific distance worthy of acquiring the ideal pastries!"
While the complete list of earnable items isn't yet disclosed, here is what's been announced so far:
- Blinky antenna topper
- Homer's hedge-themed banner
- Garbage-themed wheels
- 20,000 XP per challenge
If the key art is any indication, it appears players will also get wheels with a TV showing The Simpsons' title sequence, Kang and Kodos topper, a sprinkled donut boost trail, and boost effects themed to smoldering rubber and Krusty's famous restaurant.
Event Timing and Fortnite Connection
This event lines up with the extensive Simpsons takeover of Fortnite's island, which includes a brand-new map of the fictional town, as well as a month-long Battle Pass. This special Rocket League and Simpsons celebration launches on Saturday, Nov. 1 and ends on Nov. 17.
